Hi @Suryansh2701

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The flickering issue you're experiencing could be caused by several factors, including graphics driver issues, display settings, or even a hardware fault. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you identify and fix the issue:

1. Update or Rollback Graphics Drivers

  • Flickering can often be caused by outdated or corrupted graphics drivers.
  • To update your drivers:
    1. Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Display adapters, right-click on your graphics driver (e.g., Intel, NVIDIA, AMD), and select Update driver.
    3. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • If you recently updated your drivers and the flickering started after that, try rolling back the driver:
    1. In Device Manager, right-click your graphics driver and choose Properties.
    2. Go to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

2. Check Display Settings

  • Sometimes, display settings like refresh rate or resolution might cause flickering.
  • To check and adjust:
    1. Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
    2. Scroll down and click Advanced display settings.
    3. Check the refresh rate. If it's set higher than your display can handle, it can cause flickering. Try changing it to a lower setting (e.g., 60Hz).
    4. You can also try changing the resolution to see if the issue resolves.

3. Disable Hardware Acceleration (for Certain Apps)

  • Some apps or browsers (like Chrome or Edge) might cause flickering due to hardware acceleration. You can try disabling it to see if that resolves the issue.
  • For Google Chrome:
    1. Go to Settings in Chrome.
    2. Scroll down and click on Advanced.
    3. Under the System section, turn off Use hardware acceleration when available.
    4. Restart Chrome and see if the issue persists.
  • For Windows:
    1. Open Settings > System > Display.
    2. Scroll down to Graphics settings and choose the app you want to adjust, then toggle Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling on or off to test.

4. Check for Malware or Software Issues

  • Sometimes malware or software conflicts can cause flickering on your display.
  • Run a scan using your antivirus software or Windows Defender to check for malware.
  • Check for startup programs that could be causing the issue:
    1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
    2. Go to the Startup tab and disable any unnecessary programs, then restart your laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
