So, basically, I have Victus 15 - fb3000 and whenever i bootup my laptop it shows some white lines which sometime seems that my screen is being damaged but after a while login screen appears and this thing is happening with me recently only (I guess from past 1-2 weeks). I thought it might be a windows issue but yesterday i only installed a windows update, but it was related to security, and I doubt there might be driver issue but i did everything reinstalling, checking for updates, but nothing worked. So, i recorded a video related to it and attached it in google drive. Please see it this if anyone can.

Hi @Tiger1589,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I Understand that your concern, don’t worry I will help you with this .
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
- o the white lines appear before the HP logo, or only around the logo/loading phase?
- Do they show up in BIOS?
(Press F10 repeatedly on startup to check) - Does this happen every single boot or only sometimes?
- Have you updated the BIOS recently, or is there a pending BIOS update in HP Support Assistant?
- Does the issue appear on an external monitor, or only on the laptop screen?
These answers will help determine whether this is firmware-, driver-, or panel-related.
Things you can try (safe troubleshooting steps)
1. Perform a graphics driver clean install (important)
Even if you already reinstalled drivers, a clean install can help:
- Download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)
- Boot into Safe Mode
- Use DDU to completely remove:
- NVIDIA graphics driver
- AMD graphics driver (if applicable)
- Reinstall HP-recommended graphics drivers only
(from HP Support for your exact Victus model not NVIDIA/AMD generic ones)
This helps avoid driver conflicts during boot.
2. Check BIOS display behavior
Since the issue happens before login:
- Enter BIOS (F10) and stay there for a minute
If the white lines appear in BIOS, that suggests a hardware or firmware issue
If they do not appear, it’s more likely driver/OS related
3. Disable Fast Startup
Fast Startup can cause strange display artifacts during boot:
- Control Panel → Power Options
- Choose What the power buttons do
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
- Uncheck Fast Startup
- Shut down fully and power on again
4. Run HP UEFI diagnostics (display test)
- Power off
- Power on and press Esc → F2
- Run Display / Video tests
This checks for panel or cable issues.
5. Test with an external monitor
Connect an external display via HDMI:
- If the external display is clean while the laptop screen shows lines, the issue may be the panel or display cable
- If both show artifacts during boot, it points to GPU/firmware
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!
