HP Notebook - 15-ay014dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Notebook - 12-ay014dx that runs Window 10 (64-bit)

I've had the laptop for 2 years and I had no issues with it until today. My husband went to use the laptop to do a cricut project online, when he turned on the laptop and it loaded, but when he used the touchpad the display went black. The display is still on, but the screen is black. He tried turning off the laptop and turning it back on but the display remained black. The LED light on the CAP LOCK started to flash. I used my phone to look up what could be causing the problem and HP support said that a LED code or BEEP code means that there is a greater problem. The most common is over heating, so I turned off the laptop and proceed to use a can of air to blow out any dusk that could be causing the problem. Once finished I turned on the laptop again, but the display was still black. When my daughter looked at it, she found to how to turn on the computer by removing the battery and the AC plug, and then holding down the power button for 15 seconds. I went through these steps and we managed to get the display the display to turn on. The laptop powered on normally. However, she tested the touchpad and she got the cusor to move, but when she clicked the touchpad the display went black again.

If anyone has information on how to fix this issue it would be appreciated.

Edited: My daughter found that the screen goes black when bottom protion of laptop is touched. The area near the touchpah.

Update: display will not turn on at all now. CAP LOCK slow blinking, but not in a pattern.  It is contionous and blue.

Update (12:02 AM MT) Display loaded after blowing fan again, but completely shut down after a screen adjust. After turning on the laptop again, display will not load and blinking light has returned. The Fan sounds like it is running though.

Update (1am MTST) got laptop to load and was able to access net carefully. Running The Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool to check CPU and it has passed.

Update (1:09 MT) Ran virus scanner and came back negative.
-> Can use Keyboard, but haven't tried touchpad or touching that area. Also haven't adjusted screen. Using Usb mouse.
