Brand new laptop. Lovely piece of kit with a really annoying display issue. I have tried uefi diagnostics, HP diagnostics via windows, removed all bloatware, inc mcafee and tried both gaming and studio nvidia drivers. I have disabled all fancy display settings and power settings and nothing works. The display still exhibits random blank periods of 1 to 15 seconds with an hourglass showing. Has anyone got any insights to the root cause, which is the only issue I have with this laptop (apart from the battery life, which is about 5 hours. Don't believe the hype)

The solution was simple, as they so often are. I overlooked the most basic of things - the screen saver. This app was faulting at random intervals, It was only when I looked into the windows events log that I saw errors for bubbles.scr.. Switched off screen saver and fault gone.
