@PritamPatika, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A "glittering" or flickering display on your HP laptop can be caused by several factors, including outdated graphics drivers, incorrect display settings, or hardware issues. Let’s go through some steps to help resolve this:

Update Graphics Drivers

Outdated or corrupted drivers are a common cause of display issues.

  • Go to HP Support Assistant: HP Support Assistant Download
  • Or manually update via Device Manager:
    1. Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager
    2. Expand Display adapters
    3. Right-click your graphics card → Update driverSearch automatically

If you have Intel or AMD graphics, you can also check their official sites:

Check Display Refresh Rate

Sometimes an incorrect refresh rate can cause flickering.

  • Right-click on desktop → Display settings
  • Scroll down → Click Advanced display settings
  • Check the Refresh rate (try setting it to 60Hz or the recommended value)

Disable Hardware Acceleration (Optional)

Some apps like browsers or video players may cause flickering due to hardware acceleration.

  • In Chrome: Settings → System → Turn off Use hardware acceleration when available
  • In Windows: Settings → System → Display → Graphics settings → Choose the app → Set to Power saving

Perform a Hard Reset

This can help clear temporary glitches.

  1. Shut down the laptop
  2. Unplug power adapter
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds
  4. Reconnect and power on

Run HP Diagnostics

Use HP’s built-in diagnostics to check for hardware issues.

  • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly during boot
  • Select Component TestsDisplay Test

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
