The hdmi part of my laptop works for display on a monitor. I try to use the type c to display with a type c to hdmi cord and I cannot get it to display onto my second monitor. I don’t think it’s the cord because it’s brand new and works. So does my specific laptop (HP-Laptop 15-dy5xxx) not support 2 monitor displays? Because I can only get it to display on one monitor.

Hi:

 

Your PC's USB-C port only supports data transfer only and you may be able to charge small devices such as a cell phone from that port.

 

See the service manual, chapters 1 & 2 for the USB-C port's capabilities.
