Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!

Microsoft Windows 11

Hello!

About 3-4 days ago, I noticed that my screen/display started acting weird. These glitches seem to only occur when I open/move to/close a new or existing window or tab. At first it was only flashing a black screen for less than a second. As days have gone by, it's getting more frequent. Then when I was streaming a show, I was trying to change the color of the subtitles because I couldn't properly see them (which was odd in itself and I think has something to do with my display issue). When I clicked the setting for subtitles, the box for it was transparent. I was still able to click things on it. Also, when I tabbed to a different window, I noticed that instead of a paused screen on the video I was watching, it turned black with a transparent green over it. When I returned to the video, it went back to normal. Another thing I witnessed was during my first Zoom class yesterday. If the instructor shared his screen and started moving things around, all of my classmates' video feeds (and mine) would start glitching and/or become super transparent. Today, as I went from tab to tab, my screen would go completely black until I moved the cursor or hit a key. It does all seem to go back to "normal" before acting up again.

I haven't dropped my laptop (in like a year) nor even moved it since I relocated a couple months ago to a new state. It has just been sitting on my desk.

I have tried uninstalling certain apps that were dated within the last week with no luck.

I have made sure my computer is updated and I have restarted/shut down my laptop several times.

When I started online classes on the 15th, I had to sign up for Discord. That's the only new thing that I've done that I remember.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. ❤️

Ok....so I had the dumbest luck I think. This problem had just been solved after I disconnected my power cord and went to the battery setting (Settings -- System -- Power&Battery ) from there I changed my Battery Saver mode and it asked me to restart the computer and the flashing problem is gone now.... How Weird !!! HP/Windows/Intel please have a look at this might be a bug in the system causing display driver malfunction.  Tyr it and lets see if it works for you.

Thanks for the suggestion!

After getting into Power & Battery from Settings, I wasn't prompted to restart my laptop even after adjusting some things. I restarted it anyway, but I'm still having problems.

Thankfully, I have still been able to use my laptop. It's been slightly stressful because I just begun taking online college classes, and the last thing I need is for my computer to be acting up.

Again, it seems to start getting weird when I'm watching videos, using Zoom, and now when I am taking quizzes (they're "live", so to speak). The quiz issue is new to me. Like, when I click on a multiple choice answer, it gets all glitchy and/or the screen goes black.

😞
