HP ENVY Laptop - 15-ep0010na
Microsoft Windows 11

I discovered this problem on the 18th of August 2022, just two days ago, my laptop's screen start to flash to black when I was switching between tabs on my browser (chrome). I thought it was just a glitch so I didn't pay much attention, but later that day when I tried to open more tabs using Edge, the flashing becomes very frequent. When I moved my cursor to different locations on any web page of Edge,  the screen just flashes every time my cursor hits an URL on the page. Then I tried to use Unreal Engine Editor 4.27 version , and same thing happened. Wherever I moved my cursor the screen flashes to black (less than a second blink flash) very quickly but frequently. However this flashing issues doesn't occur when I tried to use Unreal Editor 4.26! And after I upgraded my driver the chrome browser stopped flashing, but I changed Edge's setting of "Use hardware acceleration when available" to off, and that fixed the flashing for Edge. However Unreal Editor 4.27 still flashes. I also tried to change my display setting to HDR display mode, and under that mode, Unreal, Chrome, Edge all work fine, but the colour solution is different from my original default display setting.  Now my windows system update says my laptop everything is up to date including my drivers version, so I don't know what is the problem now.

below is a picture of my display driver adapters and my display number:

Ok....so I had the dumbest luck I think. This problem had just been solved after I disconnected my power cord and went to the battery setting (Settings -- System -- Power&Battery ) from there I changed my Battery Saver mode and it asked me to restart the computer and the flashing problem is gone now.... How Weird !!! HP/Windows/Intel please have a look at this might be a bug in the system causing display driver malfunction.

Hi, I think I have the exact same model with the same graphics card and OS, that is experiencing the same issue in both Chrome and Edge. I've tried changing the power settings, but there was no promt to restart, i've restarted manually and unfortunately the problem persisted.

Other things I tried:

Updating OS

updating Nvidia driver

updating HP driver was not possible because HP only had drivers for Windows 10

Deleting cookies

Toggling various settings in edge with edge://flags

Did a virus and malware scan, nothing found

The problem is the same in edge and the worst part is that edge is embedded in OS itself with settings, and various tools and apps that therefore also give the same problem.

I'm now using Mozilla were the problem seems to be not occuring or at least on a much more minor frequency.
