HP Spectre x360 13.5 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ef0000 (3Y837AV)

Hi all!

I got my brand new HP Spectre x360 14-ef* yesterday. At first I installed all updates before starting to use it.

Now, when I flip the the display completely to the tablet, so it is directly lying on the bottom of the keyboard, the display turnes off as if I was closing the lid. Once I open it slightly the display gets enabled again.

I see that the tablet mode gets automatically enabled when it is flipped to a tent, because the keyboard gets disabled and the screen turns. Also the engery settings are set to "nothing to happen when lid is closed".

I cannot find any help for this issue by searching the internet. I guess this cannot be normal behavior.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Hi

A similar problem. Purchased a new HP Spectre x360, 13.5 inch, 14-ef0000 (3Y838AV). For me, the ability to use a laptop in tablet mode is very important. A problem has been detected: when you fold the laptop into tablet mode (unfold the screen by 360º), the screen goes out. No action helps to wake up the screen.  Other functions of switching to tablet mode work correctly: when you turn the screen to an angle of more than 180º, the keyboard and touchpad are turned off; the image rotates. What you do: Restored the factory image of the system obtained using HP Cloud Recovery Tool; updated bios; All drivers from the support.hp.com website have been updated. in the "power supply" settings, the option "When closing the lid" is set to "No action is required". An additional number of manipulations with the system settings were performed, including a "clean" installation of the Windows 11 system with a repetition of the above actions. The result is negative, the screen goes out when turning 360º. For me, this is a critical circumstance. I bought a "top-end" expensive laptop-transformer of an eminent company for active use of this mode with an electronic pen. For all other characteristics to the laptop there are no complaints. The only open question that has already been raised by users in the correspondence: the HP System Power State Notification device driver (in Device Manager next to it an exclamation point) is not updated by standard means.

I hope for operational support

Hello.

I would like to know about the progress of solving the problem with the laptop, namely:

- Are there similar cases with new laptops?

- Where, according to experts, is the problem: in the hardware or in the software?

- How soon can we expect a solution to the problem; or is it worth returning the laptop under warranty?

Kind regards
