Hi @Abhay0404,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding display freeze on the HP Pavilion laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Examine the Environment
- Check Connections: Verify all cables and connections to ensure none are loose.
- Power Sources: Test with a verified working AC outlet and make sure power sources are reliable.
- Compatibility: Ensure there are no compatibility issues with third-party devices, peripherals, or uncertified hardware.
2. Perform a Visual Inspection
- Physical Check: Look for abnormalities such as cracked display, dust over connectors, or liquid spill over keyboard.
- Signs of Damage: Check for signs of drop or movement which may cause internal or external loose connections.
3. Update BIOS and Drivers
- BIOS: Make sure your BIOS is updated to the latest version.
- Drivers: Update all relevant drivers, including those for your NVIDIA MX130 and Intel graphics cards.
- You can use HP SoftPaq Download Manager (SDM) to streamline the download, extraction, and installation process for updates.
4. Use Hardware Diagnostics and Tools
- HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI): Run diagnostic tests to check if the computer hardware is functioning properly. This tool can isolate hardware issues from software problems.
- Turn on or restart the computer, quickly press the esc key, then press f2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Remove or Uninstall Recently Added Hardware or Software
- Recent Changes: Since you have recently changed your HDD to SSD, ensure it is seated properly and all cables are correctly connected.
- Driver Updates: Ensure you have installed the latest drivers available from the SSD vendor’s website to avoid conflicts.
6. Reset System Settings
- Soft Reset (Default Settings): If you encounter issues after adding hardware, you may need to reset the system BIOS to default settings.
- Reboot the computer, press f10, navigate to Main, and select Restore defaults.
I hope this helps.
