HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cw0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good evening,

I have an USB-C port in my HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cw0xxx product number 3PX72LA#ABM

I got this from amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/-/es/Adaptador-convertidor-compatible-dispositivos-Gris-2HDMI/dp/B07QKVY23Q/r...

It is a USB.C to dual HDMI adapter. But it does not work because it say my laptop does not support DisplayPort.

How can I check/read if indeed my USB-C does not support DP? a bios setting? something on device manager?

Thanks for yout advice.

Your machine is an HP Pavilion - 15-cw0005la, unfortunately no official specs, only

which makes things harder to explain with USB-C (USB 3.2 (3.1 Gen 1)). The port does not support Alt mode therefore USB-C to HDMI won't work. I normally say this port is hopeless. That why your machine has HDMI port.

Regards.

I found this website:

And unfortunately for me: 1x USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 (Data Only)

I really have no use for a data USB-C, got the laptop for multi-display and was under the impression that the USB-C supported DP.

Is there a docking station solution for my notebook so I can have my my built-in HDMI to an external monitor and another external monitor?

Can I multiplex the built-in HDMI v1.4  port?
