I am trying to connect 2 external monitors to my laptop and am running into some issues. I can hook up one monitor to the HDMI easily but when I try and use a docking station to get an extra HDMI port, I can't even get the docking station it to work. Which leads me to wonder, does my USB C port even allow for audio/visual output? It is specifically a SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps.

What is your HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J5AV) ? You say it ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
For more connectivity, please use
True Universal Docking Stations
