Pavilion 15-cx0036tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does the Pavilion 15-cx0036tx laptop have a 144Hz panel? The shop I bought it from advertised that it did, yet in Windows it only comes up with Generic PnP driver for the monitor, limiting me to 60Hz. I cannot configure it any higher. Games appear capped at 60fps if I enable VSync on the GTX1050Ti.

I don't think it has. Its specs

My Omen machine has a label with 144Hz on the bottom left of the screen frame.

Regards.

Cheers Banhien, that's what I feared.

I've since trued to run a custom-resolution utility and it reports that the panel is BOE07A1, which is found on a bunch of 60Hz laptops.

Further, the BOE07A1 panel brightness tops out at 275 nits vs the 144Hz panel's >350 (see https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-Pavilion-Gaming-15t-i7-8750H-GTX-1060-3-GB-Laptop-Review.328820.0.h...) so I've really been short-changed by the shop.
