HP Pavilion - 15-ck002np
Microsoft Windows 11

Does the USB-C port on HP Pavilion - 15-ck002np support DP Alt mode? I am trying to find a docking station to run two external monitors in extended mode. Most of the ones I have found so far require DP Alt mode. I have a custom USB/C to HDMI adapter from another manufacturer, but if I try to use it I get:

"Display connection might be limited. Make sure you .... blah blah blah"

Thank you.

@jbrios

Its specs

                  https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05844423

It ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with / without hub/dock/adapter

Regards.

OK, thank you. BTW, maybe in the future it could be a good idea to update the HW spec to reflect this information instead of simply having "USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s)", which doesn't really say nothing related to DP altmode. Maybe have something like: "Pavillion machines don't support USB-C DisplayPort (Alt mode)".

Quick question. What are the HP machines that currently support this feature in our current date?

Thank you.

Hi BH

I have a same issue, is there any work around for HP Notebook 14s-dq1505sa so that I can have two monitors working at same time? A specific docking station or anything? Or do I need to buy a new computer?

Thanks

Aaron
