HP Laptop 14-dk0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am doing a recovery for my relative's HP Laptop 14-dk0xxx on my Dell machine- She can not locate the "ProdID" label on the unit so I am unable to prepare an OS recovery USB using the HP Cloud recovery tool.  I've created a Windows 10 recovery media USB key and want to download the HP drivers to the USB key as well in case there needed (of course in particular the network drivers).  So, I've selected a number of drivers from the HP website after reviewing the list in computer management. (I am preparing the USB key remotely and will ship it to my daughter who will use it to do the installation for the relative.)
THE PROBLEM - I choose to download the drivers and instead of just downloading them it appears to want to install them regardless of the settings I use on the download tab on the HP site.  So how do a do a basic download?

Alternatively - I believe the generic Windows drivers will recognize and work with the Realtek PCI E GBE network card on the unit?  Is that correct?  If it is I can then utilize the link for the HP detection program.

Disappointing that such a simple thing should not be apparently and readably available.  Also that the PRODID label doesn't appear to be on the unit but is needed for the cloud recovery tool

Hi:

I don't quite understand the problem you are having when saving the driver files to a USB flash drive.

I have selected the first Intel chipset driver listed on the 14-dk0000 driver page..

The file shows that it is completed, and you have an option to open the file, which you do not want to do.

You only open it from there if you want to run the file.

But the file you want to copy to your USB flash drive if you have not changed where Windows saves downloaded files, is in your Downloads folder.

There is where you copy and paste the file to your USB flash drive.

well, apparently the difference is downloading them individually as opposed to a group.  The file did download and did not attempt to install after the download when I chose just the one file.  Thank you.

You're very welcome.
