So, I accidentally dropped my laptop from the top, which I am not sure caused anything but when i opened it it seemed normal. The laptop was a bit slower to open but everything was working fine. The shorts, google, and other stuff were loaded, EXCEPT THE WALLPAPER SCREEN. WALLPAPER SCREEN IS BLACK, I even tried to refresh it but nothing happened. Also the laptop seems a bit slow to move and for startup but everything else is working. So please somebody kindly update me ASAP, since its my school laptop.

Hi @AhmedArbi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear about your laptop falling— that must be stressful, especially when it's your school laptop. Let's try to get this fixed as soon as possible!
- Does the black wallpaper issue happen immediately after startup, or does it occur after the system has loaded a bit more?
- Have you noticed any error messages or unusual sounds coming from the laptop, such as a clicking noise, which might indicate potential hardware damage?
- Are all the other programs and windows functioning normally, or is it just the desktop wallpaper that is affected?
In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps to try:
- Restart the Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve display-related issues that crop up after a physical shock.
- Check Display Settings: Right-click on the desktop, select "Display settings," and make sure the wallpaper is set correctly. Try changing the wallpaper to see if that resolves the issue.
- Update Graphics Drivers: Go to Device Manager, find your graphics driver under Display Adapters, and check if there’s an update available.
- Check for System Errors: Run a system scan by searching for "System File Checker" (sfc /scannow) in the search bar to check for any corrupted files that might be causing the delay or black screen.
- Check the Task Manager: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and check if there’s any program using high CPU or memory, which could be slowing things down.
Keep me posted for further assistance
