Hi,
I have an hp pavilion power laptop 15-cb0xx, I already have an extra monitor through the single hdmi port. But i want to add a second monitor to my setup but i have no video ports left. I do have a USB type C port but i don't know if i can hook a monitor up through a USB type C to HDMI/DisplayPort cable.. Or do i need a dock for this type of set up?
I hope someone can help me out with this!!!

Hi,
https://laptopmedia.com/laptop-specs/hp-pavilion-power-15-27/
These are the specs i have. will the dock work even though the usb c port might not support video ?

The specs is NOT good, I can't find critical information for connectivity. But it is a brother/sister of the one mentioned above therefore my first reply should be the same.
If you wish to know what is your machine, please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).

This is the one i have!
Here it says the usb C connector should support DP 1.2.
So that means an USB type C to DisplayPort cable should work for connecting a monitor?
In the future i might want a dock, a dock with type C connector and dual DisplayPort output should work too right?
