HP EliteBook 840 G5 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been using an Elitebook with an HP docking station with dual monitors for the past 2+ years. I recently switched from one Elitebook to another, same model. The new computer turns on and operates just fine but when I connect it to the docking station, I have had great difficulty in getting it to display to the monitors. When it finally connected, the two monitors mirror each other rather than display discrete images.

I often removed the previous laptop from the docking station without any problems. The docking station never moved and the setup never changed in 2+ years, until yesterday when I started from setup square one in an effort to get the displays to work. Both monitors are connected to the docking station via Display port cables.

In Display settings, it shows Display 1: HP LA2006, Connected to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. It does not detect any other displays.

When I open the laptop, there is no display.
