Hi @BennyKH

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It’s frustrating when a brand-new device doesn’t work as expected, especially when other devices connect seamlessly.

Let’s troubleshoot this step by step to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Verify USB-C Port Capabilities

  1. The HP ENVY x360 15-fe1085nr has two USB-C ports, but not all USB-C ports support video output. Check the specifications of your laptop to confirm that the ports support DisplayPort Alt Mode.
  2. If you’re unsure, refer to the HP Support page for detailed specifications.

Step 2: Update Graphics Drivers

  1. Visit the HP Support website and search for your laptop model.
  2. Download and install the latest graphics drivers for your device.
  3. Restart your laptop after the installation.

Step 3: Check Monitor Settings

  1. Ensure that the monitor is set to the correct input source (e.g., USB-C or DisplayPort).
  2. Test the monitor with another USB-C cable to rule out a faulty cable.

Step 4: Test with Another USB-C Port

  1. Try connecting the monitor to the other USB-C port on your laptop.
  2. Some laptops have one port dedicated to video output, so switching ports might resolve the issue.

Step 5: Update BIOS and Firmware

  1. Visit the HP Support website and check for any available BIOS or firmware updates for your laptop.
How to Update BIOS Software on Windows PCs | HP® Tech Takes
  2. Follow the instructions to update your system.

Step 6: Use an Adapter (Optional)

If the issue persists, consider using a USB-C to HDMI adapter or USB-C docking station to connect your monitor. This can bypass potential compatibility issues.

Let me know how it goes or if you need further guidance! 😊
