Hi Community,

I have connected my G2 active pen (rechargeable) via Bluetooth and the buttons appear to work correctly, but my screen will not detect any part of the pen for writing. Can anybody provide advice on what is wrong, or what I can do to rectify this?

Many thanks

Open this webpage:

Wacom AES Digitizer Driver

See the information, including Version:

Version:  7.5.1.37 Rev.A

Versions in the Website Support do not always reflect the very newest driver.  In theory, updates / software in the Support Website are current and stable.

I did find a Driver Pack (a packaged group of software / updates used for deployment - your IT dept knows about these).

HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 Win 10 x64 Driver Pack

The Pack includes Wacom AES Digitizer V7.5.1.43
Driver Pack

Information Files:

At the moment I do not find the version you mention (v7.5.2.29).  This means little - my search may have missed something.  Nonetheless, the variance in versions is somewhat odd.

Since you have an IT department at your disposal, ask them to check what is happening.

Ask your IT to check your Device Manager for the pen device information - they will know what this means.

If the pen is new, remember it must be fully charged to use it the first time.  I don't remember - this might be thirty minutes or three hours for a full charge.

If I have something to add, I will post back.

Is your pen supported on your device?

At this writing, there are seven models of "Elitebook" mentioned in the Compatibility Document.

  • Which of the supported stylus models are you using?
  • Which of the devices ("Elitebook") do you own?

Active Stylus - Compatibility Document

Search the document for a compatible stylus:

HP PCs - Touchscreen Compatibility with Pen and Stylus

  • If there is an HP Active Stylus available for your model, it should be included in the document.
  • Pen(s) compatible with your computer are marked with an “X” to the right of your computer model, in the column(s) under the Pen name / description(s).
  • Additional information can sometimes be found in Advisory Documents for your computer.
  • The document is updated as new information becomes available.

G’day Dragon-Fur.

I have an Elitebook x360 1030 G3 and trying to use the HP rechargeable Active Pen. In the compatibility doc it shows a blue tick against my notebook for this pen (as shown in pics) which I assume means it will work with it.1266ADA1-69F2-430E-83DA-30FE4D874D88.png

If you have not done so, try installing the Wacom AES Driver for the pen.

My Elitebook has the driver: Wacom Device v7.5.2.29 on it. Is this the same as that you have indicated I need to install?

If not, I will have to ask my IT dept to install it (my Elitebook is owned by my employer and I don’t have Admin access).

Thanks

Hi Dragon-Fur,

My IT team updated Windows on my laptop and installed the driver you recommended. The active pen now appears to work fine.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Cheers.
