Elite Book 840 G3 / V27e HD Monitor

I have an old Elite Book 840 G3 and have just purchased a v27e HD Monitor.

Would appreciate advice on how to best connect the two as HDMI cable provided with new monitor does not fit laptop (laptop has a standard HDMI cable).  Laptop cannot be upgraded in any way as it is the standard issue provided by my employer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Many thanks

The specs of your monitor is

        https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c06913650

which shows it has  1 VGA; 1 HDMI 1.4. Your HP 840 G3 also has

  • DisplayPort  (DP) on the right side and
  • VGA port on the left side port.

You can connect them using VGA cable (analog) or DP (from computer) to HDMI (to monitor) cable (digital). For example

Regards.
