Trying to replace a physically damaged screen on my HP Elitebook, 840 G7. I can not locate the correct part.
*14" monitor
*non-touch screen
*two cables connect to the existing broken screen.
Sticker on the back of the existing broken screen indicates "M08711-001". However, i have ordered two of these screens. Both only have one cable and the connector is in a different location.
Using HP's parts identification on line (HP parts surfer) brings up the same pn "M08711-001".
Help please.

You can order that part number directly from HP at the link below, but it is very expensive at $600.80.

You're very welcome.
M08711-001 is the part number you posted and if you click on the part number in the HP parts store website after you enter it in the parts store search window, it shows the list of PCs the part is used in and the 840 G7 is on the list of PC's that panel is used in.
If you look in chapter 3, page 20 of the service manual, that part number and description of the LCD panel is listed.
1000 nits, ambient light sensor HP part # M08711-001
Also, if you enter your notebook's product number in the search window at the link below, it will show you the display panel part number used in that product number.
If you get more than one panel, then enter the serial number in the search window, and it will narrow it down to the one panel used for your notebook's serial number.
