Have a work HP Elitebook x360 1030 G4. With it an
- iiyama G-Master GB2888UHSU-B1 28" TN LCD, 4K UHD 3840x2160 monitor
- ASUS VP249HR 24 Inch (23.8 Inch) Monitor, FHD (1920x1080), IPS, HDMI
- and a Lenovo Hybrid docking station
Prior to that I had a Wavlink UG39DK1 docking station which I sent back as I suspected the below described symptoms were related to the docking station.
The monitor is capable to 4K resolution and TBGH, I find lower resolutions difficult to use. The problem that a few times a day, mostly during important calls, the screens go black (loses connection with the laptop) for 10-20 second after which connection restores gradually, VPN drops so I have to manually connect back.
The notebook tells me that the recommended resolution is 3840x2160 and the refresh rate is 30 kHz
I feel the issue is more frequent with a higher resolution but I might be wrong. Change from HDMI to DisplayPort didn't help
The docking station is capable enough and so was the previous one. Is this a software issue or a faulty hardware with the EliteBook?
It's a work laptop so I cannot install any additional software
Can anyone help?
