Envy USB-C Hub
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy notebook (17-u177cl) and just purchased the Envy USB-C Hub (HP Product #:  5LX63AA#ABL).  i am trying to use the HDMI port on the hub to power an external monitor (HP EliteDisplay E232).  I am running Windows 10 64-bit build 1903.    When I plug the external monitor directly into the HDMI port on the laptop, it works fine.  However, when I plug the hub into the laptop's USB-C port and the HDMI cable into the hub the external monitor does not work.  My laptop recognizes the hub, but I get a message that says ..."display connection might be limited".  Both USB ports on the hub successfully charge my phone and the white light on the hub is lit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
