I have a new Envy 17t with an Intel i7-8550U. By default this CPU has Intel UHD 620 graphics (shared VRAM). The laptop also has the GeForce MX150 GPU with 4GB dedicated VRAM. Monitoring Task Manager, it shows that the MX150 never shows any activity, just the UHD 620. Does the MX150 only come into pay when playing games? I see no options anywhere in Win10 or Nvidia options to force a change in GPU.

Under normal and light operations, it will use Intel graphics to save power. Nvidia will kick in automactiaclly when required. But if you wish, you can change setup using Nvidia Control Panel. There is an icon aound bottom right corner., just right click and selec NVIDIA Control Papel
