Hi @AP21222,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
I understand that this is Hardware issue. But the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who would have an option to schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.
For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Just an update.
HP wanted to repair my laptop for £314 when the original price was £900. It should be fixed by HP free of cost, as this is a DESIGN FLAW from HP! There are a lot of people posting about this issue. There should be a recall or free fix of this issue by HP.

I bought this laptop in the UK in November 2022. In February 2023 the laptop developed the following fault:
The laptop has a faulty hinge and the screen has cracked where this faulty hinge joins the screen. The laptop has not been dropped. The touch screen does not work at all and the laptop is not fit for purpose. I have found numerous complaints about hinge faults on this laptop online, including this forum and this looks like a design fault inherent in the design of the laptop.
I had numerous telephone calls to HP over a 3-month period. I sent a letter by registered mail. I have had no resolution.
As it stands, I have concluded that the after sale service I have received from HP is extremely poor and it seems like too much of a risk to buy their products in future.
