Hallo ,
I have the monitor is subject , 5 month years old.
I use it as external monitor both with Dell laptop or Mac Book Pro , connected through HDMI.
It happened seldom , now fixed , the brightness is very low , I can still see but ir is very dark.
I manage the brightnesss by OSD menù but nothing change
Power cycled several times
Reset to factory settings without change

If the issue occurs both on your Mac and Dell Laptop, please contact HP Support n your region for service options
1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
