HP Spectre x360 convertible 15-df1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I connect an external display to my HP Spectre. It is not working (neither wireless nor wired). However, connecting an old laptop to the same external display, it is working fine. My spectre has NVIDIA card and Intel Integrated Graphics Card. When I check the display settings, I see that my external display is connected to NVIDIA (not to the Integrated Intel Graphics), it is recognized but not working.

I did update all drivers but I couldnt' change the configuration to connect my external display to my integrated Intel card. My old laptop has also Nvidia and Intel card. Under Display Settings, the external display is connected to "Intel Card" and working fine.

How do I change my configuration (HP Spectre) in order to get the external display connected to "Intel Integrated Card", not to Nvidia? or is there any other suggestion to get my external working on my HP Spectre?

Please advice.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Managing an external monitor.

  1. Right-click the desktop background.
  2. Choose the Display Settings command. ...
  3. Choose an option from the Multiple Displays menu.
  4. Click the Apply button to temporarily confirm the monitor configuration.
  5. Click the Keep Changes button to lock in any changes

NVIDIA

  1. Right-click an empty space on the Windows desktop, and select NVIDIA Control Panel.

  2. Click Display and click Change Display Configuration.

  3. Select Clone and click Apply.

Thank you for your reply.

In my NVIDIA Control Panel, I don't see "Change Display Configuration" under Display. However, under "Display", there is "Setup multiple displays, and when you click it, it mentions in the description something about "clone", but nothing can be done (although my external monitor is connected and recognized). I did insert screen shot of this "Multiple Displays" and highlight where "Clone" has been mentioned. (picture below).

Even in this "Multiple Displays", it is written "Drag the icons to match your display configuration" but nothing can be selected on this page and dragged.

Please advice.
