My trusty 23" All-In-One desktop is old and on the fritz. I would like to add an external monitor to my 17t-cn300 laptop with wireless keyboard/mouse and have it replace the All-in-One as my desktop. I have free access to a ASUS VP32AQ 32" monitor but not savvy enough to know if it will work with the laptop. The advertising blurb on the monitor is listed below if it is too much trouble to look it up. The laptop's max resolution is 1920x1080 and the refresh rate is 60Hz. Is that going to be an issue? Not a gamer or doing any extreme graphics work. Just a geezer with old eyes that wants a larger screen with good, sharper resolution. The laptop has 20Gb of RAM if that makes any difference. If this is incompatible, can someone recommend a 32" monitor that can satisfy my needs and not break the bank.......tks.

ASUS 31.5” 2K Monitor (VP32AQ) - WQHD (2560 x 1440), IPS, 100% sRGB, HDR10, 75Hz, Speakers, Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync, Low Blue Light, Eye Care, VESA Mountable, Frameless, DisplayPort, HDMI

The monitor should scale down to work at a lower resolution and lower refresh rate. I can use normal laptop on a 4K 200Hz TV w/o any problem.

If you wish, please use (much cheaper elsewhere)

              Acer EB321HQ A 31.5" FHD IPS 60Hz Widescreen Monitor

Thank you. Forgot to mention that I also want built-in speakers. Not stereo, just audio for the occassional YouTube video. So, if the ASUS will work, I'll use it. Besides, I like the "price".
