What is your HP ENVY Laptop PC 17-cg1000 (19S97AV)  ? It could be one machine of the following list

              https://support.hp.com/ie-en/product/product-specs/hp-envy-laptop-pc-17-cg1000/model/2100381427

For example:   HP ENVY Laptop 17-cg1000nl

>>>> I would like to connect two 4k external monitors via USB-C.

You should be able daisy chain 2 USB-C monitors OR compatible DP monitors with low refresh rates (would be 30Hz or 60Hz). Please use the following Guide:

Regards.

How do I check which model number it is?

When I run the HP system information I see this:

I do not see numbers on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop that match any of those in the link you kindly provided.

Hi BH,

When I check the HP system diagnostics tool, it shows:

Product name : HP ENVY Laptop 17-cg1xxx

Product number : 4B691U8R#ABA

Serial number : CND1044761

The sticker on the bottom of the laptop shows:

Model: 17-cg1xxx

Product: 4B691U8R#ABA

Serial: CND1044761

Sorry, I tried to take a screenshot of the HP diagnostics tool, but it did not successfully upload for some reason.

I do not see any product specification sheet matching those numbers.

Here are the screenshots and picture of the label if it helps.

Sounds like it is NOT a new machine

Well, you can use specs for a similar machine
