Hi all,
I experience the same issue as mentioned here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/USB-C-won-t-recognise-any-external-mo...
Suddenly my laptop didn't recognize my external monitor. There is nothing wrong with the cable, because the laptop gets power and data. Only the monitor is not working.
In the link above the problem occured with BIOS version 1.15.00. The BIOS of my laptop is now at version 1.17.00. It has worked so far fine, thus also with version 1.15.00 and 1.16.00. Should I try to get back to version 1.16.00? I don't think it is wise to get back to an earlier version.
What do you think?
Do you have another solution?
If not, how do I get back to BIOS 1.16.00?
Kind regards,
Hugo

Okay, search some more on the world wide web. Found this post on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/HPLaptops/comments/ze7dwt/external_displays_via_usbc_no_longer_recognized/
Shutting down the pc and holding the on/off switch for 30 seconds helped!
Amazing!!

Can nobody help me?
Either with the screen issue itself. I assume there are more people working with an external monitor and an HP laptop and are on BIOS 1.17. Don't they experience the same problems?
Either with getting back to BIOS 1.16. I think that then is the best option.
Hopefully someone can help!
