I have an HP Zbook and two HP Thunderbolt docks.  One dock is used at home and one at the office.  This black display problem persists on BOTH docks.  And, if I disconnect from the dock, the problem goes away.  I did not suspect the dock until I read this thread, so thanks to HP community for helping me troubleshoot this thing.  I went against the tide of Dell in our office with this Zbook and for this dock problem and other reasons, my next will be Dell.

The easiest way to reset the screens is to press the top of the Thunderbolt. All screens go off and ALL come back on again.

It's a terrible solution for a problem that HP are taking ZERO responsibility for and leaving their customers to figure out workarounds for themselves.

I fully agree with KDSmithAggie - I'm switching to Dell when this setup is due for replacement and I won't be coming back to HP again. Brand loyalty is a two-way street and I've reached the end of this road.
