Update -I bought the HP USB-C Dock G5 in hopes that the monitor blackouts would be improve with a "lower model" (HP Thunderbolt Dock). Sadly, it's the same. Don't buy it. If you need this to critically share your screen, or to present, this is not the right docking station. The Dell Dock isn't much better with the "FAN" that perpetually spins and makes a lot of noise.
If anyone has any suggestion on a dock that really works, please let me know. Appreciate the community feedback.

Hello HP support,
Also facing the same issue with 2 sets. In some cases on one device the signal also does not come back after 3-4 seconds, you need to unplug an replug one cable on th dock.
I waited now half a year for a technical solution, poor performance for a premium vendor with premium prices.
Could you please provide any fixes or update on the investigations?

Same issue here. I have two E233 monitors being used with a ProBook 450 G9 & G5 dock. One monitor works fine. The other has the issue. I also have a 450 G8 that I use which does not have the problem on either monitor. Everything is up to date. Drivers, firmware etc. HDMI & power cables swapped because I thought that was the initial issue. Obviously with the other laptop working, it can't be that!
Interestingly, even though both monitors are E233 & firmware for both is updated, they both list different firmware revisions & the serial numbers are completely different.
For example, the monitor with the issue has firmware WVT151 & a serial number of [personal information removed]. The monitor that does not have the issue has firmware LIT135 & a serial number of [personal information removed]. Also, if I search for the problematic serial number on the HP support website, it recognises it. If I search for the non-problematic serial number, it does not.
BIZARRE !!!

I can confirm that my org has been having this same issue on multiple user's EliteBook 640 G10 laptops (all the same spec of i7-1365U, Intel UHD graphics, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, and running the latest Windows 11) with USB-C Dock G5. The screens will go black for a few seconds every 30 minutes to an hour, but there isn't any disconnected or reconnected noise nor the screen effects when a new display is connected. We've tried using different cables (as opposed to the included cables with the monitors) and using a UPS/power conditioner with no luck. This has occurred on both older 1080p 60hz ViewSonic VX23-something and 1080p 75hz HP V24v G5 displays.
Of course, all of our drivers are up to date but, ironically, the latest (at the time of writing) Intel UHD driver version 31.0.101.4887 only allows one display at a time when using ViewSonic monitors for both external displays. Only the Built-in display works when the lid is open, and it will only display to 1 external display when the lid is closed. All 3 displays show up fine in device manager, Intel Graphics Command Center, and display settings, but the latter two set themselves to "disconnect this display" even when you try to change either of the external monitors to extend or duplicate. The only solution for that one was to downgrade to driver version 31.0.101.4575 to get the dock to display to the ViewSonic monitors.
I just thought that last issue was interesting and hope it gives some insight to someone investigating these display issues on the HP docks especially when using them with HP monitors and HP laptops.

HP please look into this issue.
I have the same issue and it is very frustrating and disruptive. It is like the dock turns off and on again as I also experience the LAN connection drop out and extenal keyboard and mouse stop functioning when the monitors go blank.
My setup is Fury 16 G9 with 2x C27 Samsung monitors connected to G4 dock. All drivers and software up to date. I have tried turning off all USB and thunderbolt power saving function in device manager but all to no avail. Seems to be totally random and happens sometimes twice within 15 minutes and other times can go for hours without issue. It has happened to me where it does not reconnect and I have to physically disconnect the dock and plug back in to get it to turn on. After 6+ months of putting up with the issue something needs to be done.

As TB_26 already stated: “I waited now half a year for a technical solution, poor performance for a premium vendor with premium prices.”
That’s really all that needs to be said. We’re all just waiting, nothing seems to happen, updates, if any, seem to make matters worse instead of better, there’s no sensible feedback, and HP just seems to hope it’ll all go away on its own.
What a blast, no?
Honestly, I can’t believe it’s ”just us”. Seeing as how severe the problems are, there must be way more people out there having these problems. They probably just can’t be bothered to write something here, especially since there seems to be no sensible response from HP. So, why bother?
For some reason my boss seems to be on an HP trip. Otherwise I would definitely switch back to Lenovo completely.

Nigel_R This issue you're having sounds like more than just a monitor connection issue. Have you tried upgrading the firmware on your docking station? I used to have the issue with the LAN connection dropping on a G5 dock. Upgraded dock firmware & that resolved the issue. However, it did not resolve the current monitor disconnection issue 😞

Hi Nigel, firmware updated with HP Tech on the phone. This doesn't happen on my old DELL Hub. I'm not using Dell because the internal fan is extremely loud and won't shut down. There's nothing wrong with the connections; they're HP hubs (including Thunderbolt - top-of-the-line). HP needs to really look into this and take it seriously. I've been able to trend when this happens: Teams or Zoom is running and sharing screen, and PowerPoint is also running in presentation mode.

Hi Jax38,
could be a thing in your case, but honestly, I almost never use Teams, and Zoom not at all. Also, I rarely use PowerPoint, and never in presentation mode. So, even though this might be a clue to HP, it sure is not the only thing that triggers this.
Most of the time I’m in some kind of programming environment, especially those of Siemens, Rockwell and the like, and this still happens to me. Also, doesn’t seem like it has something to do with that, since it even happens when I’m not in any of these IDEs.
As for me, I’ve no clue what triggers this. It sometimes happens with few minutes in between, and then suddenly goes for hours w/o problems. At least, that’s my impression.
Would be really really great when HP can solve this. Their dock was expensive enough, so I expect better quality for the bucks I had to shell out for it.
