Envy x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new HP Envy x360 Notebook., Windows 10.  I have 3 questions regarding the keyboard.

1) I cannot find something to tell me what all the top row of F keys do and how to use them.

2) How do I make the keyboard keys light up and how to unlight the keyboard?

3) Two letters, D and C, do not type unless pushed firmly, sometimes they need to be pushed hard to make them type;  what to do to fix the issue?

Thank you to all who may respond.

Searching for Envy x360 provides 199 possible matches.  You will need to look for your exact model to find information.

Open Support Home

Enter the name of your device

Once the website support homepage opens,

Select a Category

For example, select User Guides to see the User manual and the Service manual for your computer series.

Both the user manual and the service guide should provide a keyboard layout that at least provides the standard keyboard layout, including the top row of keys.

ExampleService Guide for the HP Envy x360 13 Convertible PC

See Page 11 for an illustration of "Special keys"

IF your computer model provides a lighted keyboard, this will be designated in the keyboard layout image in the guides.

Sometimes, for example, the key to engage the backlit keyboard will be F3 or F5.  The key function will be illustrated with a tiny image.  Example >   BackLit_Key_1.JPG

The difficulty you describe using particluar keys (must press hard and sometimes it doesn't work) sounds like a hardware problem - there is  no software fix for a faulty key / keyboard.  The usual fix is to replace the keyboard.
