Hello there.
I have an HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dh0xxx.
My keyboard light won't turn off because the f5 key, which is responsible for switching it on and off, doesn't work. I've tried holding down the fn key+f5, pressing fn and esc, pressing fn and space, restarting my computer, uninstalling the keyboard driver then restarting, turning off the action keys in BIOS then turning it back on, and troubleshooting to no avail. All other action keys work fine.
This is the second day of this problem, previously the button worked fine and I rarely even turned my backlight on. Yesterday night, I turned on my computer and the keyboard backlight immediately turned on, I was confused when the fn5 key refused to work. After turning off the action keys in BIOS, turning it back on, and restarting the computer twice, the problem seemed miraculously fixed. All three backlight settings worked when I pressed fn5. Today, I opened my laptop again to be greeted with the keyboard backlight, I pushed the fn5 button twice and it worked after a slight delay. Now, it suddenly turned back on and it's stuck. Please help me.

Hi @ReemD7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your Laptop keyboard.
A) Perform a power drain on your PC.
1) Unplug the power cord from the PC & wall.
2) Disconnect the power cable from the AC adapter if it is a detachable part and keep it aside.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the AC adapter, then connect it to the wall and to the charging port on your PC.
5) Power on the PC and wait for it to boot into Windows.
B) Update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link and let me know if that resolves the issue.
Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.
Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.
Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
C) Please install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps.
go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.
D) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
