Hello HP Family,
Here's my situation. I wanted to upgrade my laptop. It's a 1125G4 15.6" HP. I had an idea I wanted to check out and that was to add a 4K SAMSUNG OLED 15.6". Everything seems to line up. Same display. But there is a 40 pin connector with the 4K and a 30 pin connector with my 1080p 15.6" display. I found a converter for this. Then I was made aware of firmware which stopped me in my tracks. Because if I attempt it and it won't work due to possibility of a firmware blocking it. So I decided to see if anyone is more into DIY/Do it Yourself builds and if anyone every attempted something like this to get an idea of what I may get into.
