Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!

HP Spectre X360 13-aw0082tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had to do a fresh install of Windows, which I did from the Windows download. I've installed all the drivers from the HP site. Now, I cannot use the fingerprint scanner. In the Event Viewer I get the error "The Windows Biometric Service could not determine the identity of the sample from sensor: Synaptics UWP WBDI".

When I try to set up fingerprint login, it says "Something went wrong".

I've found other examples on this site, and have followed the instructions to disable Biometrics, remove the drivers, restart, re-enable biometrics, reinstall the driver from the HP site.

However, the issue still occurs.

What else can I do to fix my fingerprint scanner?

Thanks.

Solved it! Had to go to bios, and clear existing fingerprint data on reboot. Once I'd cleared the existing data, the sensor started working again.
