Is there a troubleshooting test for the fingerprint sensor? Mine seems to no longer function properly.

You can add new fingerprint by going to settings menu. If it won’t register your finger at all, that often points to a hardware or driver issue.

Hi @cjeagle99,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your fingerprint sensor is no longer functioning properly on your HP device, here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check for Recent Updates: Ensure your device has the latest drivers and BIOS updates installed. HP offers driver updates for the fingerprint sensor, which might resolve any issues you're experiencing. Official HP® Support

Test the Sensor Functionality: If the driver update doesn't resolve the issue, you can perform a manual test to ensure the sensor is not physically damaged.

Use HP SimplePass or Windows Settings: Try re-registering your fingerprints using HP SimplePass or through the Windows settings. This may reset the fingerprint data and resolve the functionality issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
