Hi, does anyone came across of having a flickering horizontal lines in notebook lcd display, occupying half of my laptop display. Its moving and see through..in purple and green color. I'm just watching movies when it started. Someone says the culprit might be the flex cable/ribbon between keyboard and display..thanks

Hi there,

Most likley the problem is going to be caused by either the screen cable been loose or broken, the inverter behind the screen or backlight.

The only way to really tell is to take the laptop apart to find out. If your in warranty I advise you return it to HP for repair, Alternatively take it to a local IT repair shop.

Many thanks,

James

I have this two horizontal flickering lines before I brought my laptop to an authorized HP service center. Luckily the problem was solved just by removing and replacing the battery. Could have been the bios according to..I haven't done any update since HP doesn't recommend one.
