Short roadmap (1) Do you have a friend/acquaintance who is good in computers to help you ? (2) The <safest method> is to remove the current SSD and keep it at home ! (3) Insert a used SSD and temporarily reinstall Windows 10 with all HP drivers. |

Hello @MrMoores
Another option would be to back up all the data you need to an external <USB hard drive>. Then perform a Windows factory reset (with secure data deletion). This would have the disadvantage that you lose all programs/settings/data and have to restore them after the repair.

(1) Be 100% sure to back up all important data to external <USB drive> before doing the reset ! (2) How to factory reset Windows 10 Windows 10 makes it easy to reinstall your operating system. Click Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery. Here, you should see various options. Each performs a different type of recovery. On the Recovery screen, click Get started under Reset this PC, which offers you two choices –
