Hello @MrMoores

Thanks for reporting.

Short roadmap

(1) Do you have a friend/acquaintance who is good in computers to help you ?

(2) The <safest method> is to remove the current SSD and keep it at home !

(3) Insert a used SSD and temporarily reinstall Windows 10 with all HP drivers.

Samsung SSD 512GB PM871a M.2 2280 MZNLN512HMJP-000H1 MZ-NLN512A HP Laptop

( The model type differs but "could" work, ask seller if you can return the SSD if it's not recogniced )

Hello @MrMoores

Another option would be to back up all the data you need to an external <USB hard drive>. Then perform a Windows factory reset (with secure data deletion). This would have the disadvantage that you lose all programs/settings/data and have to restore them after the repair.

Questions ?

Kind regards

Hello @MrMoores

You're welcome !

(1) Be 100% sure to back up all important data to external <USB drive> before doing the reset !

(2How to factory reset Windows 10

Windows 10 makes it easy to reinstall your operating system.

Click

Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery.

Here, you should see various options. Each performs a different type of recovery.

On the Recovery screen, click Get started under Reset this PC,

which offers you two choices – Keep my files or Remove everything.
