I have tried to find solution but nobody has helped me, my fps is above the 144hz panel and is handling the fps very well, the game does not feel good on my hands, even 60hz feels much better than the 144hz. I hate the delay and its so bad that I havent played the game because its making it boring.

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing severe input lag or latency issues despite high FPS. Here are some troubleshooting steps to fix this:
Check Refresh Rate
- Ensure 144Hz is enabled:
- Right-click on the desktop → Display settings → Advanced display settings → Check that the refresh rate is set to 144Hz.
Disable Windows Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling
- Open Settings → System → Display → Graphics settings.
- Turn off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling if it's on.
Reduce Latency in NVIDIA/AMD Settings
- For NVIDIA GPUs:
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D settings → Low Latency Mode → Set to Ultra.
- For AMD GPUs:
- Open AMD Radeon Software → Graphics Settings → Enable Radeon Anti-Lag.
Optimize Power Settings
- Set your laptop to High Performance mode:
- Control Panel → Power Options → Select High Performance.
Update Drivers & BIOS
- Update GPU drivers via NVIDIA GeForce Experience or AMD Radeon Software.
- Update BIOS & chipset drivers from the HP website.
External Monitor Test (Optional if available)
- Try connecting to an external 144Hz monitor to see if the built-in panel is causing the delay.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response,
If your laptop had GPU scaling and an NVIDIA MUX switch, the delay would be much lower. It feels better at 60Hz because GPU scaling reduces lag and improves performance.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for responding back,
Since your laptop has an AMD processor and you're experiencing severe input delay in Fortnite despite high FPS, here are a few additional troubleshooting steps:
1. Check if Your Display is Connected to the dGPU
- Some gaming laptops route the display through the integrated GPU (iGPU), which increases input lag.
- If your laptop has a MUX switch (which you mentioned it doesn’t), switching to the discrete GPU (dGPU) would help.
- If possible, try an external monitor connected via DisplayPort or HDMI to ensure the dGPU is handling the rendering.
2. Disable V-Sync & Adjust Frame Rate Limit
- Open Fortnite Settings → Video.
- Turn OFF V-Sync.
- Set Frame Rate Limit to a few FPS below your monitor's refresh rate (e.g., 141 FPS on a 144Hz display) to avoid input delay.
3. Use Radeon Anti-Lag & Reduce Latency
- Open AMD Radeon Software → Graphics Settings.
- Enable Radeon Anti-Lag.
- Set Chill Min FPS = 140, Chill Max FPS = 144 (to stabilize frame pacing).
- In Windows Graphics Settings, enable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling.
4. Enable High-Performance Mode
- Go to Control Panel → Power Options.
- Select High Performance or Ultimate Performance mode.
- Open AMD Radeon Software → Tuning → Set GPU to Max Performance.
5. Check if Windows is Forcing iGPU Rendering
- Right-click on desktop → Display settings → Graphics settings.
- Find Fortnite, click Options, and ensure it’s set to High Performance (discrete GPU).
6. Lower Polling Rate of Your Mouse
- If your gaming mouse has a high polling rate (1000Hz), try lowering it to 500Hz or 250Hz to reduce processing overhead.
7. Check Background Processes
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) → Processes.
- End unnecessary background apps like Discord overlay, GeForce Experience, Radeon Overlay, MSI Afterburner, or any FPS limiter.
8. Test Fortnite in Borderless or Windowed Mode
- Some AMD-based laptops experience latency issues in fullscreen mode. Try Borderless Windowed and see if input lag improves.

Hi @Allupal,
Thank you for letting me know, sorry to hear that you still have trouble with the device, Let try a basic step, please try a BIOS Restore on the Pc and once done check and let me know the version installed to help you better.
BIOS Restore :
1) Shutdown the computer and keep the charger plugged
2) Hold down the Windows and B button together while the computer is still turned off.
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B button until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
4) Follow on-screen instructions and click on OK
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
