I have been using Omen 16.1 Gaming laptop for a year. Now suddenly, my pc starts to freeze completely and sometimes it freezes for a 3-4minutes and display flickers with restarting of windows explorer. I have installed windows several times but no resolve even now, I played a youtube video on microsoft edge browser and the display flickered once and revered back. No idea what the problem could be. If anyone could guide.
thanks.

@ASKhuwaja, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Frozen Screen and flickering of display!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
That definitely sounds frustrating — especially on a powerhouse like the Omen. A screen that flickers and freezes mid-task, especially when you're just browsing or watching a video, can really break the flow.
From what you’ve shared, this could be a sign of a graphics driver conflict or a deeper GPU-related issue. Since reinstalling Windows didn’t help, I’d recommend trying these steps:
Update Graphics Drivers – Head to the HP Support site or your GPU manufacturer’s page (NVIDIA/AMD) and download the latest drivers manually.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics – Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to launch the built-in diagnostics tool. Run a system test, especially on the graphics card and memory.
Check Event Viewer – Type Event Viewer in the start menu and look for critical errors around the time of the freezes. It might offer clues, especially if Windows Explorer is restarting.
Disable Hardware Acceleration – In Edge or any browser that flickers, go to settings and turn off hardware acceleration under “System.”
If the issue persists even after this, it could be hardware-related — like a faulty GPU or loose display connector. Let us know how it goes, and we’ll guide you further if needed.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

@Zoey7886 thanks a lot for the support. The issue was agreed with the Graphics driver, it was the Intel XE Graphics. I uninstalled it from the device manager and then reverted back to an old driver downloaded from HP website. So far it is working good.
Thanks a lot.
