OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (343L4AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As you can see, I have HP Omen 16-c0xxx Laptop. I have been using this laptop since September 2022. I am regularly updating all drivers (AMD,HP) from official web pages and my drivers are all Up-to-date. The OS I am using is Windows 10 Home. The issue is that when I try to make screenshot via SHIFT+WINDOWS+S ( Only in FreeForm Snip) I got my GPU crash, black screen for 2-3 seconds( I think my GPU restarts). Also when I boot my laptop I see some glitches on the internal display( Also happens when I turn night light on/off).  The problem has appeared in last 4-5 months, not since I bought the laptop.

Hi @javololovich,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering some graphics-related issues on your HP Omen laptop, particularly when using the FreeForm Snip shortcut and during certain system operations like booting or toggling night light. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve these problems.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest graphics drivers installed for your AMD GPU. Visit the official AMD website and download the latest drivers for your specific GPU model.

Update Windows:

  • Make sure your Windows 10 operating system is fully updated. Check for any pending updates and install them.

HP System BIOS Update:

  • Check if there is a BIOS update available for your HP Omen laptop on the official HP support website. Sometimes, BIOS updates include fixes for graphics-related issues.

Check for GPU Overheating:

  • Monitor your GPU temperature using software like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner. Overheating can cause graphical glitches and crashes. Ensure that your laptop is adequately cooled and free from dust.

Windows Memory Diagnostic:

  • Run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check for any memory-related issues. Press Windows key + S, type "Windows Memory Diagnostic," and follow the on-screen instructions to restart your computer and perform the memory test.

Check Event Viewer:

  • Use the Event Viewer to check for any error messages related to the GPU crashes. Look for events under "Windows Logs" > "System" and "Windows Logs" > "Application."

Rollback Graphics Drivers:

  • If the issue started after a driver update, consider rolling back to the previous graphics driver version. Go to "Device Manager," right-click on your GPU, choose "Properties," go to the "Driver" tab, and click "Roll Back Driver" if available.

Disable Night Light:

  • If toggling night light causes glitches, try disabling it temporarily to see if the issue persists.

Always back up important data before making any significant changes to your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
