Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When using Skype the video quality from my webcam is grainy/fuzzy.. simply terrible. It's worse than my old laptop!! I really regret buying HP.  Does anyone know if there are better drivers or a specific driver to improve the quality of my webcam.

Greetings!

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there is an issue with the video quality.

Don't worry I'm here to help. To better assist you -

1) Have you tried any other app or software for video calling?
2) Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?
3) When was the last time it worked without these issues?

In the meantime, let's try these steps -

1) In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
2) Expand the Imaging Devices.
3) Right-click on the HP Webcam and select Uninstall.
4) Confirm the uninstallation.
5) Restart the computer to reinstall the Webcam driver.

If the issue still persists, please try updating the computer -

Step 1 Run Windows Updates troubleshooter from this link.

Step 2 Windows Updates -
1) In the search box, type
and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 3 HP Support Assistant Updates -
1) In the search box, type
and open HP Support Assistant.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

For more information, please refer to this document.

Let me know how that goes.

I have run Windows updates

I have run HP updates

I have removed the driver and let it reinstall itself

I have tried YouCam

The video is still grainy and very very poor quality.

Can you give me a direct link to the current webcam driver and the previous version of the webcam driver?

The laptop is hp pavilion 15-br015na

Thank you

Hi,

Thank you for the link.

I already have this driver installed. I installed it and the picture is the same.. blurry/grainy.

Can you give me the link to a BETA driver or a previous version of the driver?
