I've had a dv6-211 3sa for over ten years. In recent years I rarely use it, but recently decided to link it up to a large screen TVtv (which I'd done successfully in the past). Used hdmi as usual, but no Joy, the PC didn't detect the second screen. So I dug around abit & noticed the Nvidia control panel was no longer on the PC, so checked device manager and oddly my graphics card has been "re-branded" as a AMD radeon.
Checked the event log & on January 1st this year it appears the change took place. My laptop definitely had Nividia graohics it had an Nidia logo sticker on the keyboard for years & I used their website many times to install drivers etc.
So went on HP website it detected my model of laptop & found the version with AMD, so won't install Nvidia drivers. Tried Nvidia website which again scanned my PC & couldn't find their hardware. I've tried uninstalling drivers but AMD drivers re-installed after reboot.
Any ideas anyone please?

Are you sure your machine is an HP Pavilion dv6-2213sa machine ? Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).
Regards.

Hi, thanks for your post.
Yep, it's definitely a dv6-211 3sa WB329EA#ABU.
I've read in another thread that apparently a small number of dv6 laptops had Nvidia cards, mine was definitely one of those.
Totally stumped as to what's happened with it though. So any advice would be very gratefully received.

From product code, it is an HP Pavilion dv6-2113sa Ent. Notebook PC. From the followinf specs, it has nothing to do with NVidia

The resoan I asked question because I could not find dv6-211 3sa and HP has a model called HP Pavilion g6-2113sa which has AMD Radeon HD 7420G Discrete-Class:

In short, both machines do not have Nvidia video card.
Regards.

Hi, thank you, I appreciate you advice & you obviously know your stuff. But I know without doubt that prior to January of this year my machine had an Nvidia graphics card. My keyboard had at one point an nvidia logo sticker & the nvidia logo sat on my screen for years.
I know it seems unlikely & I have done some research myself on HP website which suggests otherwise, but as I said a few models of the dv6 were produced with nvidia graphics.
So if possible, if we could suspend belief & wonder why my graphics card is now being recognised as an AMD card, just so I can try and remedy the issue that I have.
Completely appreciate you're knowledge & pov, but I know the hardware that I have, having used it for over a decade 😊
