HP Pavilion x360 14-cd1511sa
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi  I own a HP Pavillion X 360  14-cd1511sa and since I Factory reset and upgraded to Windows 11 my HDMI port does not work.  I've ran HP Support on the laptop and it shows no problem with the Video drivers.  Anyone help please?

Hi @wabz85 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing issues with your HDMI port after upgrading to Windows 11.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

1.    Turn off the Unit.

2.    Disconnect the AC adapter.

3.    Remove any discs from the disc drive.

4.    Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

5.    Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

6.    Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.

7.    Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

Step 2

Turn off the unit and please press and hold the Windows key + letter B key and the power button together for 30 seconds after 30 seconds, 1st release the power button but keep holding the Windows key and B key for ten more seconds and then release these two keys If done correctly, you will see the display flashing once. Please attempt it thrice as this step and Restart the unit

Step3

The unit has to be turned off, Press Win+ V while holding these two keys then Press the Power button, continue to hold all three keys for 30 seconds and then release the Power button first and then release these two keys Please attempt it thrice  and then you may get a Pop-Up CMOS Check and it will restart the unit

Even if you don't get a Pop-up restart the unit manually after 3 attempts.

  • Check Hardware Connections: Ensure that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both your laptop and the external display device (monitor, TV, etc.). Sometimes loose connections can cause issues.
  • Update Drivers: Even though HP Support might not show any issues with the video drivers, it's still a good idea to make sure they are up to date. You can visit the HP website, find your laptop model, and download the latest drivers for your graphics card and HDMI controller. Software and Drivers for HP Pavilion x360 14-cd1511sa
  • Windows Update: Make sure your Windows 11 installation is fully up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates can include fixes for hardware compatibility issues.
  • BIOS Update: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop on the HP website. Sometimes BIOS updates can address hardware compatibility issues.
  • Device Manager Check: Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu) and look for any warnings or errors related to the HDMI port or display adapters. If you find any, try updating the drivers for those devices or reinstalling them.
  • Try Different HDMI Cable and Display Device: If possible, try using a different HDMI cable and connecting to a different display device to rule out the possibility of a faulty cable or external display.
  • Rollback Windows Update: If the issue started immediately after upgrading to Windows 11, you might consider rolling back to the previous version of Windows to see if the problem persists. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Recovery and selecting the option to go back to the previous version of Windows.
