My ENVY is just over 2 years old. The HDMI port is starting to ack wonky. A lot of times I have to jiggle the plug to get it to work, but then it will stay on. I decided to invest in a USB-C hub that had an HDMI port, figuring I wouldn't have to unplug it when I used my laptop away from my desk. I've now purchased 2 of those hubs. Returned the first one because I figured it was bad when the HDMI didn't work. It isn't working on the second one either. I read in another thread something about built-in USB-C needed to have video built in??? (But it also said they were more standard after 2015 and I got my ENVY in Nov 2017.) My port is a USB-C 3.0.
If the problem is that the UCB-C port doesn't have video, can I buy an adaptor? Or would that be like trying to get electricity out of a faucet? I don't want to throw more good money away if it won't help.
Thanks much!
