Hi @murthypidugu,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the HID (Human Interface Device) - Compliant Touch Screen driver is missing on your HP ENVY X360 Convertible Laptop PC, it can cause issues with the touch screen functionality. To resolve this problem, you can try the following steps.
- Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Windows updates often include driver updates, which might resolve the issue automatically.
- Restart the Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix driver-related issues.
- Device Manager: Open the Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Device Manager" from the menu. Look for the "Human Interface Devices" category and see if the "HID-compliant touch screen" is listed. If you see a yellow exclamation mark next to it or it's missing, the driver might be the issue.
- Update the Driver: Right-click on the "HID-compliant touch screen" entry (if it's available) and select "Update driver." Choose the option to search for drivers automatically. Windows will attempt to find and install the appropriate driver for your touch screen.
- HP Support Assistant: If your laptop came with HP Support Assistant pre-installed, you can use it to check for driver updates specifically for your HP model.
- Visit HP's Website: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to the HP support website (https://support.hp.com/) and navigate to the "Drivers & Software" section. Enter your laptop's model number to find the latest touchscreen driver. Download and install it manually.
- System Restore: If the touch screen issue started recently after a driver update or software installation, you can try using System Restore to revert your laptop to a previous state when the touch screen was working correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
