HP Notebook - 15-ay103dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the HP Notebook - 15-ay103dx and my touchscreen is not working. I go to Device Manager and even click on show hidden devices yet I still don't see the HID-compliant-touchscreen device so I'm wondering if there is a driver I can install and if it can be supplied.

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are getting touchscreen issue.

  • Did you do any software changes?

Meanwhile, run a UEFI test on the touchscreen

  1. Select Start, and then select HP Help and Support. Right-click HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, select More, and then select Run as administrator.

  3. The Component Tests menu displays. Click the plus sign next to each component to expand the selection.

Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.

I have made no software changes but did fresh installed windows 10 twice. I ran the UEFI test but you didn't show which component test category the touchscreen was under. I couldn't find any checkbox for the touchscreen rather I did see one for touchpad but that's not it.

@Volcanicpuncher,

I am responding on behalf of @sandytechy20 as he is out for the day. It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

Reinstall the original touch screen device driver that came installed on your computer using the following steps:

  1. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

  2. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.

  3. Right-click the USB Touchscreen Controller(C04D).

  4. Select the option Browse my computer for driver software.

  5. Select the option Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

  6. Select USB Input Device, and click Next.

  7. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the driver.

  8. When driver installation is complete, confirm the touch screen is functioning properly.

If the touch screen still does not respond after reinstalling the driver, continue to the next section.

Device driver updates released through Windows update might resolve the touch screen issue. Install the latest Windows updates.

Use the following instructions to install updates in Windows 10.

In the Windows search bar, search for and open Check for updates.

If there are any available updates, they begin installing automatically.

If you continue to face the issue, I recommed you update the BIOS and the graphics driver fro the below link.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
