HP 14 dq2031tg

I have an HP 14 dq2031tg laptop. I'm having a challenging time extending the desktop to dual monitors using the USB-C connection for the second monitor. I keep getting "No Video Input" on the second monitor screen.

When I try Settings > Display > Multiple Display and click Detect, I always get "Didn't detect another display". I have tried numerous connecting cables and hubs but none have worked.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Ironically, I had an unused adapter in a box of cables. I was able to resolve this issue with an "OREI SplitExtend HDMI Splitter Extended Display for Dual Monitor". It did require a new driver, which I downloaded from their website. Before downloading, I checked their site with a few safe/legit website verification services and completed virus scans after download and after extraction. All was fine. Now I have the proper extended desktop with dual monitors (and laptop closed in a stand).
